Egyptian Discovery packs the full sweep of Egypt into twelve well-paced days. Cairo opens the show with the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum’s Tutankhamun treasures, before the overnight sleeper train carries you south in classic style. At Aswan, visit the High Dam and the island Temple of Philae, then board a five star Nile cruiser for Kom Ombo, a Galabia party, Edfu’s Temple of Horus and the passage of the Esna lock.

Luxor delivers the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, Karnak and Luxor Temple in one unforgettable day – then it’s over the Eastern Desert to Hurghada for two full-board days on the Red Sea before returning to Cairo for your flight home.

Step off the plane and into the land of the Pharaohs. Your tour manager meets you with a signboard, assists through customs and immigration, and accompanies you to your hotel to confirm the day-by-day arrangements.

With your private Egyptologist guide, visit the Great Pyramid, a royal burial chamber and the Sphinx, then the Egyptian Museum’s magnificent Pharaonic collection – crowned by the golden treasures of Tutankhamun – with a Papyrus and Carpet Institute stop on the way back.

A free morning in Cairo (or an optional tour), before boarding the overnight sleeper train south to Aswan, with dinner served on board.

Arrive into Aswan for the monumental High Dam and a motor-boat ride to Philae Temple on Agilka island. Board your cruiser for lunch and sail to Kom Ombo’s unique double temple, then celebrate at the on-board Galabia party as you sail for Edfu.

By horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the largest and best preserved of the Nile temples, then back on board to cross the lock of Esna en route to Luxor.
